About the Instructor
Allison Griesbach grew up in the Kansas City area and has been involved with music since a young age. She is a former member of many area student groups including the Kansas City Youth Symphony. Allison attended the UMKC Conservatory of Music earning a BME in instrumental music. Allison then went on to teach orchestra in an area school district, was a substitute teacher in Shawnee Mission schools, and was a licensed Kindermusik educator. Allison went on to study Music Therapy at UMKC and earned a MA in Music-Music Therapy and is a board certified Music Therapist. While in graduate school, Allison worked with all ages and abilities and interned in the area of early childhood special needs. Allison's graduate research was in the area of Music Therapy with foster and adoptive families. She then went on to earn a Neurologic Music Therapy credential. Allison currently works as a music therapist in a pediatric behavioral health hospital. To learn more about Music Therapy, please visit www.musictherapy.org. Allison lives in Overland Park with her husband, who is an elementary music teacher, and have three children through adoption.
Allison has been providing violin and viola lessons to the Kansas City area since 2000.
